Sadly very often we end up trying to teach our dogs what drop means when it’s too late and they have something they shouldn’t have. This can lead to a feeling of urgency and very quickly turn into us shouting “drop” at our dogs and wrestling the illegal item from them.

Dogs have a multitude of different ways of communicating how they are feeling at any given time. Our job as their guardians is to learn how to read their language so we can keep them feeling safe and confident.
